Beatrice Rae Newhouse Kopcak

Beatrice Rae Newhouse Kopcak, 93, of White Oak, formerly of Herminie, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, in Select Specialty Hospital of McKeesport. Born Sept. 23, 1917, in Greenwald, she was the daughter of the late Roy Raymond and Olive Beatrice (Morgan) Newhouse. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Sewickley Township schools and St. Edward School in Herminie. She graduated from California State Teachers College . She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin. She also was a member of VFW Post 8427 Ladies Auxiliary of Herminie. Mrs. Kopcak was a former co-owner of Oven King Bakeries. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by all of her brothers, Morgan, Adrian, Paul, William and Dr. Joseph Newhouse; her loving husband, John J. Kopcak; and a daughter, Mary Louise Novak, in 2010. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Laughton and husband, Robert, of Naples, Fla.; a son, John J. Kopcak and wife, Vicky, of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Patricia, Paula, Marianne, Gregory, Jeffrey, John, Stephen and Christopher; and great-grandchildren, James, Alexander, Reid, Alec, Brady, Cole, Avery and Peyton. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, with Father John Moineau as celebrant. (Everyone please go directly to the church.)
