Anthony M. "Tony" Mazzoni, 77, of New Alexandria, died Friday, April 4, 2014, in UPMC Shadyside. Born Oct. 19, 1936, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Antonio and Mary Tesauro Mazzoni. Tony was a member of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria. He retired from Laborers Local No. 1451 of Latrobe. Tony was a veteran, having served in the Army in Germany during the Berlin Crisis and during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Angeline, Frank, Charles, Catherine Marts, Nancy, James, Rose, John, Mike, Ralph and Joseph. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Josephine E. Kuchta Mazzoni, at home; two daughters, Lori Hayden and husband, Scott, and Nicole Bortz and husband, Scott, all of Greensburg; grandchildren, Jacob Hayden, of Virginia, Riley Hayden, of Greensburg, and Marli Hayden, also of Greensburg; a sister, Marie Heaps, of Delmont; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, in New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, in St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria, with the Very Rev. Larry J. Kulick, JCL, pastor of St. James Church, as celebrant.
