Alvin E. "Reuben" McCabe Sr., 65, of Luxor, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his family. Born Jan. 17, 1948, in Greensburg, he was a son of Ralph Riley McCabe and Dorothy (Beaken) McCabe. He retired from PennDOT, where he worked for 25 years as a painter in the maintenance department. He was a life member of the Old Crabtree Sportsman Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rose Ann (Cable) McCabe, of Luxor; two sons, Alvin "John" McCabe Jr. and Ralph "Peany" McCabe and wife, Beth Ann; two precious granddaughters, Brittany-Rebecca McCabe and Alexia Rhaye McCabe; siblings, Ralph "Huck' McCabe Jr. and wife, Judy, Dorothy "Becky" Wallace, Dave McCabe and Nancy "Ginger" McCabe; is also survived by Traci, Tucker, Tracy, Miranda, Zack and Morgan Sullenberger; and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all, especially his loving dog, George. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at P. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in the funeral home at 215 Church St., New Alexandria, with Pastor Bruce Keen officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria.
