Agnes Emrick Romancik, 99, of New Alexandria, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Oak Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Greensburg. She was born Jan. 6, 1912, in Bradenville, a daughter of the late Joseph Mikolajczyk and Mary Kozlesky. Agnes was a self-employed housekeeper. Agnes retired from SW Bank in New Alexandria. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in New Alexandria, where she belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. She also belonged to the Autumn Leaves. She belonged to the BPW of New Alexandria and the New Alexandria Vol. Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a judge of elections for 30 years for Salem Township . Along with her parents, she was predeceased by six brothers; and her eldest son, Joseph Emrick, in 2010. She is survived by a son, John Emrick and wife, Claire, of Lancaster; and a daughter, Marianne Roskosh and husband, Tom, of Greensburg; and daughter-in-law, Linda (Lyn) Emrick, of Greensburg; grandchildren, John Emrick II and wife, Cassondra, and daughter, Alyssondra, of Bronx, N.Y., Matthew Emrick, of Bronx, N.Y., Michael Emrick, of Lancaster; a godson, Stephen Storkel, of Schaumbourg, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St. , New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church in New Alexandria with Monsignor Lawrence T. Persico as celebrant. Burial at Calvary Cemetery , Unity Township . The Rosary Alter Society will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by a parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the Blairsville Elementary School Library, Blairsville.
