Judith Elliott Obituary

Judith Ann Elliott passed away at home in Murrysville, PA on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She passed peacefully in the beautiful and loving home that she helped to build with her beloved partner of 28 years, Mike Cain, and under the loving care of her niece, Sheri Gongaware Fitzpatrick.

Born on April 16, 1954, in New Alexandria, PA, Judi was the daughter of the late Donald P. Elliott Sr. and Rose Marie (Slezak) Elliott. Judi was preceded in death by her brother Donald P. Elliott, Jr. and sister Kathleen Gongaware. She is survived by her brother Daniel Elliott and his wife Tracie, sister-in-law Patty Elliott, and several nieces and nephews. She is also mourned by Mike’s brothers, sister, and extended Cain family.

Judi was a beautiful and unique person. She was thoughtful, generous, self-deprecating, welcoming, and responsible, with a strong sense of justice and a great sense of humor. All who knew her wanted to make her laugh to hear her heartfelt laugh. She was kind to everyone she met and provided unfailing and thoughtful support to both of their families. When children came to visit, she would have games and toys waiting for their arrival, and as soon as their exhausted parents started to run after the kids, Judi would shoo the parents away, telling them to take a break and relax, she had everything taken care of.

Judi was fiercely loyal and defended her values. She had zero tolerance for nasty words in their house. Kindness to children and animals was paramount. She adored her dogs, who respected and loved her as the confident authority she was.

Judi was very disciplined. She ran a tight ship at work, kept a pristine home, and sweated hard at the gym and in Zumba classes.

Judi greatly appreciated beauty in nature and cultivated gorgeous perennial gardens and potted plants, despite the frequent visits from the neighborhood deer. She cherished memories of the beautiful scenery and gardens she experienced on their travels.

Knowing how busy she was and how hard Judi worked to create and maintain a welcoming home and stunning gardens, it's amazing how much time she dedicated to reading. Judi was an avid reader, always with several books going at a time.

Judi was a treasure to her friends and family and an exemplar to all. She will be greatly missed.
